After you load a project for the first time using Project Reporter's
administration interface, the project will automatically be reloaded each time
the project data changes.
The Project Reporter server scans the loaded projects and data sources every 30
seconds, checking for new, deleted, or updated projects, and takes the following
actions:
-
For projects in .MPP, .MPD, .MDB, .PRX, or .MPX files, if the modification date
of the file is later than it was when the project was last loaded, the project
is reloaded automatically.
Note: .MPD and .MDB files will not be reloaded if
a lock file (with the .ldb suffix) exists in the data source directory, since
this indicates that the file is still being modified by another application,
such as Microsoft Project.
-
For projects in databases, a project is reloaded automatically if certain timestamp
fields (which vary according to the database format) have been updated since the
project was last loaded.
-
Any new projects are displayed on the
Projects
page when they are found, but are not loaded automatically, unless the
Load new projects automatically
option is turned on for the data source.
-
If a loaded project is deleted from a database or a directory, it is not
unloaded automatically, unless the
Load new projects automatically
option is turned on for the data source.
When an updated project is reloaded, users viewing a report on the project will
see a notice that they should reload the report pages to see the latest
information.
